||To ensure athletes are eligible to compete and have their event performance recorded on the Centre’s
computer system all athletes MUST wear CORRECT CLUB UNIFORM with their age group tag firmly
attached to the front of their top in a clearly visible position. Additionally the IGA badge must be attached to the rear of the top just under
the collar.Athletes not wearing correct club uniform will be
allowed to compete but will be issued with an “Out of Uniform” notice and will not be allocated points for
||On leaving an event athletes should report back to their Club Team Manager and when given a result ticket
have their performance recorded by their club.
||Misbehavior of athletes will be reported to Club Team Managers. Repeated misbehavior will lead to
disqualification from event(s) or from the remainder of the season.
||Athletes MUST NOT cross the front or back straight except at the designated areas at the end of each
||Only DESIGNATED OFFICIALS AND COMPETITORS will be permitted on the arena. Any infringement of
this rule by may result in penalties on the offending athlete(s) and/or their club(s).
||Any complaint(s) regarding officials, program, etc. must be directed to the Centre Committee via Club Team
||Athletes must leave the arena as soon as their event is completed.
||Athletes must not marshal until called over the PA system.
||Suitable footwear MUST be worn at all times – no bare feet!
||Spikes are permitted for U12-U16 in laned events, LJ, TJ & HJ ONLY. Maximum spike length is 7mm
(Conical). Spikes MUST be removed at the completion of an event. Spikes MUST NOT be worn off the
||Spikes are not permitted for U6-U11 age groups.
||The Crouch start is compulsory for U12-U16’s in sprint events (including Relays) unless a medical
condition prevents it.
||In Walk events, children are NOT allowed to wear tracksuit pants and they are NOT allowed to wear shorts
that are longer than 100mm above the centre of the knee when kneeling.
||No competitor may compete out of their age group unless they are competing in a relay event in which case
they cannot be progressed up by more than one age group. Age groups may be combined in an event at the
discretion of the program manager, subject to this rule.
||In the case of adverse weather conditions, a decision to cancel will be made as early as possible. Where
time permits, clubs will be notified of the decision. Once the program has commenced, the decision lies
with Club Team Managers in consultation with the Centre Executive.
||All clubs are required to supply officials and helpers. Clubs who fail to meet their obligations may be
penalised. Replacement officials will be called for as the need arises.
||The Program Manager has the authority to stop or cancel events if insufficient numbers of officials are
present to conduct the event(s) or an excessive time is likely to pass before completion of an event.
||On Twilight meetings and other so advertised days athletes will have only 2 attempts at each Field event,
except High Jump which will remain as per normal regulations.
||At DVLAC conducted programs (excluding Championships) - an athlete who arrives at an event after it
has commenced may join the event at the current round/height level BUT will not be allowed catch up trials.
||All High Jump Events will be conducted as 3 attempts at the starting height and 2 attempts at subsequent
heights, until four (4) or fewer athletes remain. The number of attempts will then revert back to 3.
At the end of each round the bar shall be raised in increments of five (5) cm. When four (4) or fewer athletes
remain, the bar shall then be raised by increments determined in consultation with the athletes but of at
least 3cm. When two (2) or less athletes remain, the bar can then be raised by increments of at least 2 cm.
All Championships will be conducted with 3 attempts at all heights. Where possible (i.e. large age groups)
the event will be run over 2 venues with the recording sheets split.
